Wolfsburg’s Josip Brekalo close to Monza move

Wolfsburg and former Torino midfielder Josip Brekalo is close to sealing a move to Monza in January.

Brekalo had spent the previous season on loan at Torino but he didn’t join them permanently because he wanted to play in the Champions League.

Sky Italia have now stated that Monza’s move for the Croatian is now coming closer and closer, with his contract at Wolfsburg expiring in the summer transfer window. The move is expected to be defined and completed by the beginning of the January transfer window as that is when Adriano Galliani will return to Italy from holidays.

He will join Monza permanently after having found very limited game time since he returned to Wolfsburg from Il Toro at the end of the previouss eason.

Brekalo had joined Torino on loan from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2021 and he had done well for the Turin outfit, scoring seven times in 33 appearances.
