Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to sign new Milan contract

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is now set to sign a new contract with Milan, despite suffering from an injury.

Ibrahimovic underwent a knee surgery at the end of the 2021/22 season and he is expected to be out for some months now.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that the striker is set to renew his deal at the club and an agreement has been reached between the two parties. His wage in the next deal will be less than the previous deal offered him.

He will earn €1 million per season plus bonuses that could make the deal worth €1.5 million per season. The bonuses could be achieved on the basis of goals and assists. He is expected to put pen to paper in the next few days.

While Ibrahimovic couldn’t play too many games in the 2021/22 season, he scored eight goals and racked up three assists for the Rossoneri.
