Agent of Giovanni di Lorenzo: “He wants to stay at Napoli, talks on going with De Laurentiis”

Napoli skipper Giovanni Di Lorenzo is likely to extend his contract with the club, as confirmed by his agent Mario Giuffredi in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.

“There will be talks for the new contract, we already have approached the subject with president Aurelio De Laurentiis. We’ll talk in the future but it won’t be a problem because Napoli in Di Lorenzo have found a great man and footballer. His desire is to stay at Napoli and Napoli’s desire should be to continue with Giovanni”.

Di Lorenzo contract is set to expire in 2026 and he, through his agent, in the past has already showed the intention to close his career while playing for Napoli.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport back in November, the two parties could find an agreement over a contract until 2028 when Di Lorenzo will be 35.

Di Lorenzo has inherited the arm brand from Lorenzo Insigne as the latter last June left the club at the end of his contract to join MLS side Toronto FC.

Since joining Napoli in 2019, Di Lorenzo has played 168 games in total, winning the Coppa Italia in 2020 under coach Gennaro Gattuso.

This season, he scored three goals across all competitions, the latest came in Napoli’s 2-0 win away against Eintracht Frankfurt in Champions League’s last 16 first leg.
