Arsenal make contact for Barcelona’s Raphinha

Arsenal have made initial contact to explore the possibility of signing Barcelona’s Brazilian winger Raphinha.

The winger had joined the Catalan outfit in the summer from Leeds United, after Barcelona had managed to beat competition from Chelsea. The Blues are very close to sealing the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk, leaving Arsenal to move for an alternative.

SportItalia’s Gianluigi Longari has now reported that Raphinha is an option that they are looking at, with exploratory contacts having been made by the Gunners. He was a target for the London side in the summer but they could not sign him and while they have not made any offers for the Brazilian yet, they are understanding the feasibility of a potential move this month.

The 26-year-old has played 15 La Liga games for Barcelona this season and he has scored two goals, picking up two assists. He wasn’t great for Brazil in the FIFA World Cup, as the Selecao were knocked out in the quarter-finals.
