Arsenal are now set to sign Chelsea midfielder Jorginho on transfer deadline day.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has reported that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs, with the Gunners set to pay £12 million to the Blues even though Jorginho’s deal at Stamford Bridge was running out in the summer.
Jorginho has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and he is expected to arrive at the club’s training ground today and undergo a medical, before signing a one and a half year long contract with the Premier League leaders. The move comes after Arsenal failed to sign Moises Caicedo and needed a midfielder.
Jorginho’s agent had previously stated that he was prioritising Chelsea, even though Napoli was a popular choice for the player but the Blues had not offered any contract to the Italian, who was also looked at by Juventus in the past but a move never materialised.
