Serie A side Atalanta have rejected an offer from Napoli for midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, the player’s representative has confirmed.
The Partenopei were heavily linked with a move for the Dutchman some days ago and there was talk of an offer from the Serie A champions. But the reports never mentioned the aftermath of the saga.
Bart Baving, Koopmeiners’ agent, recently spoke to SpazioNapoli (via TMW) and he spoke about the situation of his client amidst links with Napoli and he revealed that La Dea rejected an offer for the ex-AZ man.
Baving stated: “Last week I was in Bergamo. Napoli made an official offer of €45 million, but Atalanta have said that Teun is not for sale this summer.”
Atalanta have already sold Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United this summer and Jeremie Boga has also left and this suggests that losing another key part of the side isn’t something La Dea can afford. When one considers how versatile and impressive Koopmeiners has been for the club, deciding not to sell him is a wise choice.
