Atalanta’s Merih Demiral edges close to exit

Atalanta defender Merih Demiral is now edging closer to an exit from La Dea.

L’Eco di Bergamo (via TMW) report that the Turk is heading further and further away from Atalanta as he has not been included in the club’s squad for pre-season training in Clusone. This is the clearest sign yet of the fact that the defender will leave the Bergamo-based side this summer.

His exit could come on the basis of an initial loan deal with the option to buy for about €20 million, but that part will be resolved once clubs come callling for him.

If he leaves this summer, it would be difficult for Atalanta to earn more than €15 million as that would prevent the club from making a capital loss. Inter continue to keep tabs on the Turk and the situation is likely to develop in the next few weeks. But it seems highly likely that he would leave this summer.
