Beppe Marotta on Inter coach Simone Inzaghi: “He is and will be our coach again next year”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has revealed that Simone Inzaghi will remain the head coach of Inter beyond this season regardless of the outcomes within the final stages of this year’s campaign.

Despite the tempestuous and unstable start to this year’s campaign, the former Lazio manager was able to win the Italian Super Cup and lead the Nerazzurri to the Coppa Italia finals for a second consecutive season, as well as the Champions League finals for the first time in thirteen years since they last won the treble under Mourinho.

With Inter only in need of a single point within their two remaining fixtures of the Serie A in order to qualify for next year’s Champions League, it seems that the Italian tactician has been able to overcome the rigorous hurdles that were within his path, unlocking the full potential of his squad within the latter stages of the season as the Benemata only lost a single match out of their last ten fixtures across all competitions.

While speaking with Rai Italia, via FCInterNews, Marotta discussed how he never lost trust in Simone Inzaghi throughout the course of this season:

“This year we have never thought, not even for a second, of replacing Inzaghi. He managed to strengthen his position thanks also to the team’s performances which are the result of his technical guidance. He is and will be our coach again next year.”
