Cagliari complete incredible comeback v Frosinone in Serie A’s game of the season

Claudio Ranieri’s Cagliari completed what was an incredible comeback against Frosinone in what was one of the matches of the season in the Serie A.

Initially, it seemed as if the game’s dominant plot was going to be Matias Soule’s impressive first-half display. Frosinone found themselves 2-0 up and Marco Brescianini’s 49th minute goal made it 3-0. It seemed as if it was over, especially considering Cagliari’s winless season so far in the campaign.

But somehow, Ranieri’s side found the spirit to mount a sensational comeback. Two goals came within the space of four minutes, with Gaetano Oristanio scoring in the 72nd minute and Antoine Makoumbou scoring in the 76th minute.

The decisive moments came in stoppage time and they came because of a well-known name in Italian football. Leonardo Pavoletti grabbed two stoppage time, as the striker grabbed two goals within just as many minutes to hand Cagliari their first win of the season.

Ranieri was under pressure going into the clash, but Cagliari climbed upto 19th in the table and are now one point away from coming out of the dropzone.
