Juventus’ holding company has termed the rumours surrounding the club’s imminent sale as false.
According to a report by ANSA via Tutto Mercato Web, The Agnelli family’s holding company Exor released an official statement to address the recent rumours stirred up by an Italian newspaper which indicate the possible sale of Juventus. A spokesperson of the company said: “The hypothesis aired by a newspaper regarding the sale of Juventus is devoid of any foundation“
Newspaper Il Giornale propagated the news that “Juventus is up for sale” and the expectation of “major manoeuvres to prepare the farewell to the club” but following the statement from Exor, these rumours can be described as a hoax.
The founder of FIAT Giovanni Agnelli acquired Juventus in the year 1923 and that marked the beginning of the longest uninterrupted ownership of a sports franchise in the world. While the Bianconeri have endured tough times recently, it is unlikely that the Agnelli family will be interested in selling the club in the near future.
