Federico Chiesa doubtful for Italy’s clash versus North Macedonia

Federico Chiesa is a major doubt for Italy’s match against North Macedonia on Saturday evening.

According to a report by Corriere dello Sport via GOAL, Luciano Spalletti has a problem to resolve in his start to life as the new manager of the Italy National Team. Federico Chiesa might not be available for the fixture against North Macedonia as he has suffered a minor adductor issue.

The former Napoli coach would have liked to start the Juventus star after his fabulous start to the season but now he will be forced to look into other options.

Chiesa was predicted to start on the forward left flank, completing the attacking trio with Ciro Immobile and Matteo Politano. Lazio winger Mattia Zaccagni is the favourite to replace the 25-year-old for the match as Giacomo Raspadori is unlikely to be used by Spalletti.

The medical team will continue to assess the magnitude of Chiesa’s injury and will attempt to make him available for the match against Ukraine.
