Fiorentina general manager Joe Barone has revealed that no official offers have arrived for the club’s midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The Morocco international has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks and it was reported yesterday that Fiorentina are interested in making sure that progress is made regarding his sale by the end of this week. The player has given some extra days of rest already, as his future remains up in the air.
Barone recently spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) recently and he was asked about the situation of Amrabat and his future. The club’s general manager said:
“Sofi is very close to me, he speaks English and I hear him almost every day. No official offers have arrived for him, I told him to arrive focused on Fiorentina, he must have the head to play in the Viola.”
With Amrabat likely on his way out, La Viola have sealed the signing of Juventus’ Arthur, who arrives on an initial loan deal with the option to buy him permanently. Barone also spoke about the Brazilian’s signing.
“We worked hard on it, he’s a player he wanted: a player who gives a lot to our midfield, Daniele PradĂ© worked well with Giuntoli and we’re overjoyed with his arrival.”
While Arthur is a vital midfield signing, there remains the possibility of La Viola signing another midfielder depending on whether Amrabat leaves or not.
