Giovanni Carnivale slams door on potential exit of Domenico Berardi amid Juventus interest

Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnivale has shut down any possible exit of Nerroverdi star Domenico Berardi in the January transfer window amid interest from Juventus.

The Bianconeri have been monitoring the Italian winger over the past months, plotting a potential transfer move in the winter market in order to bolster the front-line heading into the latter stages of the season.

So far this season, the Nerroverdi skipper has played a vital role in coach Alessio Dionisi’s squad, snatching nine goals and three assists in 13 games-played in the Serie A.

However, in a recent interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Tuttojuve, Cardinale has ruled out any potential €30m sale for Berardi in January and has expressed that Sassuolo intends to keep hold of the attacking trident until the end of the season:

“Berardi? I’m not selling him in January, I’ll say that straight away. In January I won’t sell anyone and, based on the opportunities that arise, we will see how to intervene. We listen to everyone and evaluate, but in January we don’t sell important players.”
