Pep Guardiola: โ€œNapoli are the strongest team in Europe right nowโ€

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola showed nothing but respect to Serie A teams ahead of Champions Leagueโ€™s draw, as he stated in an interview for Sky Sport.

โ€œNapoli is probably one of the strongest team in Europe in terms of playing style, they have similarities with Arsenal. And then Milan and Inter are back. Iโ€™m really pleasedโ€.

Manchester City have knocked out RB Leipzig by winning 7-0 the second leg as Erling Haaland scored five goals in the match. In the quarter finals they could be paired with an Italian team.

Guardiola had a history in Serie A and in Italy as he played with Brescia and Roma between 2001 and 2003 scoring three goals in 28 appearances in the league.

Asked about a possible comeback, Guardiola replied: โ€œIโ€™ll be in Italy for holidays. Iโ€™ve lived there for two years and I still have many friends there, especially in Bresciaโ€.

Brescia is also Roberto De Zerbiโ€™s hometown and Guardiola praised now Brightonโ€™s coach for his job: โ€œHeโ€™s changing a lot of things in English football, his football is marvellous. People say it was impossibile for him to do it in England but heโ€™s doing itโ€.
