Inter boss Simone Inzaghi hails Marcus Thuram: “I wanted him to score”

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi has stated that he wanted new signing Marcus Thuram to find the back of the net today.

Inter picked up a very convincing 4-0 win over Fiorentina at the San Siro today and kept their impressive start to the season going, having won their previous two games in the campaign as well. Thuram, who had impressed in the last two games, finally found the back of the net today.

He scored Inter’s opening goal, before Lautaro Martinez scored twice and Hakan Calhanoglu scored from the penalty spot. After the win, Simone Inzaghi spoke to the press about Thuram and he had praise for the Frenchman (via La Gazzetta dello Sport).

“I also liked the other matches, I wanted him to score the goal. I’m very satisfied.”

The Frenchman has combined well with those around him under Inzaghi so far, showing how suitable he is to the club’s system and those are definitely positive signs for the Nerazzurri as they look to challenge for the Scudetto.
