Serie A giants Inter picked up a resounding 5-1 win over rivals Milan at the San Siro, creating a new record in the club’s history.
The Nerazzurri opened the scoring through Henrikh Mkhitaryan before Marcus Thuram stunned the Rossoneri fans with an effort that rifled into the top corner. Rafael Leao soon pulled one back in the second half for Milan, but Mkhitaryan doubled his tally and Lautaro Martinez later made it four after Theo Hernandez brought him down in the box. Summer signing Davide Frattesi added salt to Milan’s wounds by adding a fifth in stoppage time.
Inter have now beaten Milan five times in a row in the derby and this is a record for the most consecutive wins for a side in the Milan derby in either club’s history.
Inter are now at the top of the Serie A table and have won all their league games and the win at the San Siro came against a Milan side which was itself in great form. But Inter’s resounding win which that they might be a level above the other sides.
