The transfer team at Inter Milan have opened negotiations with a former member of the defensive setup at cross-city rivals Milan, according to reports.
The ex-Rossonero in the sights of the Nerazzurri is Tiago Djaló. For those not familiar with his name, Djaló is a 23-year-old central defender.
The one-time Portuguese youth international is currently plying his trade with Ligue 1 outfit Lille, whom he joined on the back of a short-lived stint in Italy with Milan back in 2019.
The last couple of seasons have seen Djaló establish himself as a pivotal member of Lille’s backline, in the process piquing the attentions of a whole host of clubs from across the continent.
And, as alluded to above, this week, one such outfit have firmly stepped up their efforts to lure the stopper away from the Stade Pierre-Mauroy.
As per a report from Fabrizio Romano, Inter have begun ‘working on a deal’ to land Djaló.
The move in question would come in the summer of 2024, when the former Sporting CP talent is currently in line to become a free agent.
The Nerazzurri are understood to have been tracking Djaló’s progress for a number of years now, but could face stern competition for his signature, amid widespread interest.
