Inter’s Benjamin Pavard out for two months due to knee injury

Serie A table-toppers Inter Milan have, on Monday, been dealt a considerable blow on the personnel front.

This comes in the form of confirmation of the extent of the injury suffered by Benjamin Pavard.

For those who may have missed it, defender Pavard was forced into an early departure from Inter’s weekend victory over Atalanta, after picking up what appeared to be a serious knee problem.

Though he was later spotted celebrating on the sidelines unassisted, early reports in turn pointed towards an incoming spell on the sidelines for the French international.

And, on Monday, precisely that has been confirmed. In an official statement across the club’s website and social media platforms, Inter have revealed that Pavard has suffered a dislocated kneecap.

“Benjamin Pavard underwent a medical examination at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano this morning. The tests ascertain that he has suffered a dislocated kneecap.

“The French defender will need to wear a knee brace for 3/4 weeks before starting his rehabilitation process,” the Nerazzurri announced.

Sky Italia point towards a likely spell of around two months out of action for Pavard as a result.
