Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot on contract renewal: “I feel comfortable here”

Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has revealed that he is comfortable at the Bianconeri, with the club yet to hold new talks over a new deal for the Frenchman.

Rabiot was close to joining Manchester United last summer and Juve seemed set to earn a fee from his sale. But the transfer never went through as Rabiot’s wage demands could never be met by the Old Trafford-based club. His current deal runs out in the summer, which means that Rabiot will leave Juve for nothing in some months.

After Juve’s 1-0 loss to Roma yesterday, Rabiot spoke to Sky (via Alfredo Pedulla) about his future and speculation surrounding his future at the Bianconeri.

“There is no news, not yet. We are calm, we have not spoken. They spoke to my mom some time ago and then we haven’t heard from each other, but I’m calm. We think about doing well on the pitch because the situation is a bit delicate at the moment. There will be better days, we’ll see. In this period I’m physically fine, I feel comfortable here and this is the important thing. We still have weeks and months to talk and we certainly will.”

Rabiot has been one of Juve’s most important players this season, scoring five times in Serie A so far and also picking up two assists for the side. This has been his best season at the club so far, with the last two being rather poor for him.
