Lazio have made initial contact with Serie A side Lecce for the potential signing of midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs in Italy and abroad and Portuguese side Sporting seemed to be closing in on him.
Alfredo Pedulla has reported that Claudio Lotito is keen on pleasing Maurizio Sarri and while attempts remain ongoing to potentially land Samuele Ricci from Torino, initial contact was made with Lecce for Hjulmand as well. While the Salento club is in advanced talks with Sporting for the Danish midfielder, the move is not done yet.
Lazio have tested the waters and it remains to be seen if it leads to anything concrete, especially if the move for Ricci does not take off.
Moves for Gustav Isaksen and Daichi Kamada are expected to be done soon, with Lazio also looking to bring in a left-back and Luca Pellegrini remains an option for the Biancocelesti.
