Former Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti is expected to become the new Italy boss and replace Roberto Mancini at the helm of affairs.

Yesterday evening, an opening was reached to hire the Italian and today, FIGC President Gabriele Gravina and Spalletti will have a face to face meeting where they will discuss ideas around the project.
He will likely be presented as the manager on Monday, with Spallettiโs desire to manage Italy never in question ever since first contact was made between the two parties. Napoliโs insistence for FIGC to pay the termination fee of Spallettiโs contract has annoyed the manager, who sees the Italy opportunity as one that he doesnโt want to miss.
Todayโs meeting with Gravina will dissolve any doubts around the project and it is likely that Spalletti will manage at the Euros in 2024 and in the World Cup in 2026.ย
