Manchester United are interested in Inter goalkeeper André Onana but they are currently not willing to spend beyond €30 million on the Cameroon international.
Onana’s agent was in Manchester yesterday to speak to United about their interest and potential offer for the goalkeeper and today, La Gazzetta dello Sport state the same. It is stated that Erik ten Hag wants a goalkeeper who is good with his feet – something which can’t be said for David de Gea, who is yet to sign a renewal. That is why Ten Hag has asked for a new goalkeeper, with Onana and Porto’s Diogo Costa being options.
But United currently don’t have unlimited resources as the club is in the middle of a takeover process. Ten Hag wants the club to fix the goalscoring department with a new number nine and wants to sort out the goalkeeping situation. To replace De Gea, United can only spend around €30 million now, whereas Inter want to sell Onana for €60 million.
Simone Inzaghi considers Onana to be a key player for the side and Steven Zhang does not want to lose the goalkeeper easily. But Inter want to stay prepared in the event of his exit and now that Guglielmo Vicario is set to join Tottenham, they want Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili as a replacement for Onana. Spurs had a bid rejected for the Georgian and Chelsea are also expected to make an offer for him.
