Manchester United interested in Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini

Manchester United are one of the clubs that are interested in the possibility of signing Atalanta youngster Giorgio Scalvini.

The Italian has impressed for La Dea over the past year or so and this has led to a host of European and Italian clubs keeping an eye on him.

Corriere della Sera state that while Scalvini is set to have his salary increased by Atalanta, there is an expectation than an auction can open up in the summer for him. For Chelsea, Scalvini is quite a serious target and a lot of it could come down to their potential Champions League qualification or the lack of it.

Bayern Munich are also interested in the player, with both United and Manchester City having registered their interest in Scalvini after making initial enquiries for him. Liverpool are also keen on the player.

Inter are also interested and they might be the only club who can remotely afford to beat the European giants, with Milan Skriniar leaving the contracts of both Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij expiring. Milan did make an enquiry in the past but will not make a move and Juventus can’t move for him either. Napoli can make a move but the asking price of €40 million could put them off.
