Mike Maignan’s Milan return delayed ahead of Tottenham game

There was an expectation that Mike Maignan would return for Milan in their Champions League Round of 16 first leg tie against Tottenham, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now.

La Gazzetta dello Sport state that while Maignan was expected to be fit for the 14th of February clash against the London giants, hopes have now extinguished for it. The new goal for his return now is the second leg of the round, which takes place on the 8th of Mach.

The Frenchman continues to work at the Milanello and while yesterday’s medical tests showed improvement in his situation, there is still some way to go. Milan are regularly monitoring his situation and they have not laid out any fixed timeline for his potential return, but the club somewhat believe that he could be fit for the Spurs 2nd leg.

When Maignan returns, Devis Vasquez is expected to become the third choice goalkeeper or move away from the club.
