Milan keeping tabs on Brazilian striker Vitor Roque

Milan are set to renew Olivier Giroud’s contract which is due to expire this June but with the move for Divock Origi not having taken off, they see Brazilian striker Vitor Roque as target.

Giroud has remained a starter this season and he’s likely to be a key player in next season too. He will also get older as he will turn 37 in September. This is one of the reasons why the club is exploiting alternatives.

As reported by Daniele Longo, Milan will look for a new number nine in the next transfer window and that’s their priority. Few profiles have been already evaluated, including Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque.

Born in 2005, Roque is considered the next big thing in Brazilian football but Milan called themselves out of any potential bid as Athletico Paranaense, Roque’s team, are likely to ask at least €30 million.

Red Bull Salzburg and Switzerland international Noah Okafor is another name to take in consideration while scouts keep their eyes open in Ligue 1 and Bundesliga too.

Milan have a clear plan and to increase their chances of succeeding, namely having more money to invest, they’re ready to sell Divock Origi and Ante Rebic.

Origi signed last June as a free agent but failed to make a good impression as he only scored two goals and struggled with injuries. Rebic has scored 29 goals overall since his arrival in 2019 but in this season, he’s been rarely a starter.
