Good news has surfaced the Rossonerri camp as Milan central midfielder Ismael Bennacer has resumed action earlier than anticipated at Milanello following his long-term injury.
Milanese journal La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Algerian international will follow a personalized training camp in order to resume action on the pitch by the end of 2023 or early 2024,
The star creative-midfielder has been held at bay for five to six months following a knee surgery that he underwent towards the end of last year’s campaign. Bennacer’s last appearance was on May 6th when the Rossonerri beat Lazio 2-0 at the Stadio San Siro.
Since the 25-year-old arrived from Empoli in 2019, Bennacer has made 111 appearances across all competitions for the Rossonerri, playing a predominant role in coach Stefano Pioli’s 2021/22 title-winning campaign.
Whilst Milan currently sit at the top of the pack in the Serie A with 21 points, the return of Ismael Bennacer within the three-midfield may prove vital in order to maintain their course towards their 20th Scudetto.
