Inter and Juventus earmark West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek

Serie A giants Inter and Juventus are keen on increasing the quality within their midfield as both clubs are monitoring the situation of star West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek.

TMW reports that both the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are enthusiastic about potentially signing the Czech international for free as his current contract with the Premier League outfits is set to expire in the summer of 2024.

Since joining the Hammers from Slavia Prague in 2020, the 28-year-old central midfielder made 116 appearances across all competitions, scoring 19 goals and playing a vital role in helping West Ham clinch the UEFA Europa Conference League last season over Fiorentina in a 2-1 victory in Prague.

As it stands, it remains uncertain whether Paul Pogba will resume action for Juventus after having tested positive in a doping test, as well as Nicolo Fagioli who is currently under investigation regarding the betting scandal within Italian football.

As per Inter, it seems that coach Simone Inzaghi lacks faith in injury-prone Stefano Sensi after having dropped the Italian out of the Champions League squad, and Dutchman Davy Klassen has failed to hit the mark since arriving from Ajax.

Consequently, both sides are earmarking the situation regarding Soucekโ€™s future as the Beneamata and the Old Lady are eager to gain additional depth within the midfield department.
