Milan squad disappointed by decision to sack Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara

While there was uncertainty around the futures of Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, the Milan players have been left baffled by the club’s decision to sack the influential duo.

Daniele Longo has provided more information about the club’s decision to part ways with Maldini and Massara, stating that the team is ‘disappointed’ by the club’s decision. Most of the club’s senior members haven’t taken it well and that includes Theo Hernandez, Sandro Tonali and even goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

Since all of those are new signings that were brought in by the duo, they had a good relationship with them and have always been grateful to their approach. As a result, they haven’t taken this decision well. It took them by surprise, if anything.

Rafael Leão only recently signed a new deal after the hardwork Maldini put in to address all the issues in the way and he was quite close the former Rossoneri defender. Tonali grew up a Milan fan and always idolised Maldini and he always had his posters on his wall as a child. Maignan too has been very grateful to the duo for seeing and signing him as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma.
