Milan’s Theo Hernandez after Torino win: “My morale was low after the World Cup”

Following Milan’s 1-0 win over Torino in Serie A, Theo Hernandez has revealed that he was low on confidence after the FIFA World Cup ended.

The left-back started for the Rossoneri in the win at the San Siro, as his compatriot Olivier Giroud helped the side climb upto 3rd in the table. Hernandez was also a regular for Les Bleus in the World Cup, as they lost to Argentina in the penalty shootouts in Qatar. He had started in the final as well.

With the win over Torino being Milan’s first since the opening week of January, things seem brighter. And Hernandez spoke to DAZN (via TMW) about the game and stated:

“These are three very important points, we came into it after games where we didn’t play well but with this victory we move forward. When you lose a lot of games it’s only a mental problem, we are a strong team, we are all united and the fans are with us.”

He further stated: “After the World Cup I was a bit down with morale. Now I’m back.”

Hernandez was also asked about whether the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped bring the side back to winning ways. He said:

“Ibra always wants more, he too is like a coach. This victory also came thanks to him.”
