Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis: “Osimhen is staying”

Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis has reiterated the fact that Victor Osimhen is staying at the Partenopei this summer.

De Laurentiis recently spoke to Sky Italia (via TMW) and he was asked about the situation of the Nigerian, amidst links with a move to Saudi Arabia.

He said: “Osimhen is staying, he has a contract for another two years and so where should he go? The contracts must be respected by both the parties being a bilateral relationship. With Osimhen there was bilaterality from the first moment and we get along very well. Stay calm.”

It indeed does seem like a situation of calm at Napoli, as Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda did hold a meeting with De Laurentiis yesterday and talks were held about the finer details of the player’s new deal at the club. He is expected to sign a five-year deal.

Al Hilal are keen on the player but Napoli do not want to sell him, even though the Saudi Arabian side are offering over €180 million to Napoli and a wage package of €200 million over a five-year deal to the striker. But Osimhen himself seems happy to stay at Napoli for at least another season.

He was previously linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, but it seems as if he would stay at the Maradona.
