Napoli are making ground in their move to hand Victor Osimhen a new deal and the Nigerian could soon have a release clause in his contract.
Sky Italia state that a second meeting regarding Osimhenโs renewal has taken place. The playerโs agent Roberto Calenda expressed the Nigerianโs desire to renew at the club, with both parties now keen on making sure that Osimhen stays for at least another season.
There is still a lot of gap between the clubโs offer and what the player demands, but Napoli know that they canโt lose more assets after the exits of Cristiano Guintoli, Luciano Spalletti and Kim Min-Jae. Osimhenโs agent also knows that they canโt ask for a wage that goes beyond Napoliโs capacity.
A solution for the issue could be that Napoli will go close to meeting the wage demand of about โฌ7 million and will add a release clause of around โฌ200 million in his deal. Shared image rights could also bring the parties close. Work is already going on in the right direction for this, with both parties trying to close a deal as quickly as possible.
