Napoli players informed of Luciano Spalletti’s decision to leave

Napoli players have now been informed about Luciano Spalletti’s decision to leave the club at the end of the current season.

Il Mattino today have shed some more light on Spalletti’s incoming exit from the Partenopei, with the manager having already made the decision to depart the club and he has communicated that to Aurelio de Laurentiis in their dinner meeting two weeks ago.

It is now stated that Spalletti’s adventure in Naples is really over and he communicated his desire to leave to the Partenopei players before the game against Inter. Giovanni di Lorenzo’s celebration with Spalletti after his brilliant left-footed strike was a reflection of that.

De Laurentiis’ relationship with Spalletti has broken down, with the club CEO ready to now release him so that the manager can take a sabbatical for a season. Spalletti believes that there is no better way to leave than this, having been warned of the possibility of key players potentially leaving. He believes that he needs a break and after the sabbatical, he will then take on a new challenge.
