Milan set to sign Atalanta’s Marco Sportiello

Former Serie A champions Milan are now set to sign Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Sportiello in the summer transfer window.

Milan have been keeping tabs on Sportiello for a while now and they have drawn links with the Italian since the January transfer window. They did sign Devis Vasquez in January but he hasn’t featured for the club and Antonio Mirante is still at Milan but he is expected to depart in the summer.

Because of the presence of four goalkeepers in the side, Milan didn’t consider moving for Sportiello in January. Daniele Longo has now reported that they are set to sign the Atalanta man in the summer.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper’s current deal at La Dea runs out in the summer and he would join Milan for free. He has been at Atalanta since 2012 but has spent multiple loan deals away from the club. He previously had stints with Frosinone and Fiorentina in Serie A.
