Napoli to hold negotiation talks with in-form winger Matteo Politano next week

Napoli are set to enter extension talks with in-form winger Matteo Politano in order to attempt in conserving the Italian international for several more years,

As per Il Mattino, via TuttoNapoli, a meeting with Politano and his agent, alongside President De Laurentiis is scheduled next week in order to find a solution regarding the former Inter player’s future that suits all parties.

As it stands, Politano’s contract is set to expire in the summer of 2024, whilst the Partenopei have the option to trigger an automatic one-year extension. However, last year’s champions seek to prolong the Italian winger’s stay until at least the summer of 2028.

So far this season, the 30 year-old has amassed five goals and three assists in eleven matches within the 2023/24 Serie A term, cementing a starting spot under coach Rudi Garcia and earning a call-up for the Azzurri with former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti at the helm.
