Former Serie A champions Inter have now confirmed the arrival of goalkeeper Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich.
The Nerazzurri were looking to sign the Swiss goalkeeper for sometime, especially with Andre Onana having joined Manchester United. But the negotiations with Bayern Munich went on for some weeks, as they tried to find an agreement. A breakthrough was reached late last week and Sommer was in the city yesterday.
He underwent a medical with the Nerazzurri, who have confirmed his arrival from Bayern on a permanent basis. While Bayern did try to make sure that Inter paid Sommerโs release clause, but they have sold him for lesser than that and Sommer has now signed a three-year deal with Simone Inzaghiโs side and he will be their starting goalkeeper.
Inter are also close to signing Sampdoriaโs Emil Audero, who will be the clubโs second choice goalkeeper and operate as a back-up to Sommer.
