Serie A strugglers Sampdoria have confirmed that they have sealed the signing of former Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain player Jese Rodriguez.
Rodriguez had left Turkish club Ankaragucu in the middle of January and he had been a free agent since then. He has joined Samp on an initial five-month loan deal until the end of the current season. Samp have the option to extend his stay beyond the current season for another campaign, if things do go right for the Spaniard.
The player had arrived in Genoa yesterday and underwent a medical with the club and has now signed the deal with Samp, who are struggling not just in the table but also when it comes to their finances, wages and ownership.
Rodriguez’s last spell in the top five European leagues came back at Real Betis, who he had joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. Since then, he has had spells at Sporting, Las Palmas and in Turkey.
