Napoli have, on Tuesday, unveiled Walter Mazzarri as the club’s new head coach.
The name of tactician Mazzarri has of course returned centre stage in the headlines in Naples across the day to date.
This comes after word was forthcoming that the 62-year-old was being lined up for a shock return to the Partenopei dugout.
After negotiations with Olympique de Marseille boss Igor Tudor failed to bear fruit, Aurelio De Laurentiis sprung a surprise in making contact with Mazzarri, who of course previously took charge of Napoli from 2009 to 2013.
The Italian’s most recent managerial role came a full three years ago, in Serie A with Torino.
As confirmed in respective posts across the club’s website and social media platforms this evening, though, Mazzarri is now back on the bench, with Napoli.
