Inter will aim to continue their perfect start to the new season when they face Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena to begin their Champions League campaign today.
Real Sociedad approach this match on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Real Madrid. Ander Barrenetxea was quick into the game to give his side the lead in the 5th minute. The Basque team continued to mount pressure on the Real Madrid defence but the hosts started to gradually grow into the game. Los Blancos kept their cool and started the comeback in the 46th minute when Joselu headed home the equaliser.
La Real never recovered as they were left helpless to the pace of Carlo Ancelotti’s men. Federico Valverde scored the winner for this side in the 60th minute with a long-range blockbuster shot. Imanol Alguacil would have liked to start the season more strongly as his side now sit in 11th place in the league standings with only one win from five matches.
Meanwhile, Inter head into this match in a buzzing mood after posting a 5-1 scoreline against Milan in the Milan Derby. It is four wins out of four matches for Simone Inzaghi’s side as they are a team looking to challenge for the Scudetto this season despite having financial problems.
The Nerazzurri reached the finals of the Champions League last season but lost to Manchester City but they would consider that a considerable achievement taking into account all the teams they faced. Inter will aim for the full three points from tonight’s fixture to progress further into the competition.
Here are the predicted line-ups for the match:
Real Sociedad (4-3-3): Remiro; Traore, Le Normand, Zubeldia, Tierney; Mendez, Zubimendi, Merino; Kubo, Oyarzabal, Barrenetxea.
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Pavard, De Vrij, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Martinez, Thuram
