Roma are now set to sign Leeds United defender Diego Llorente on another loan deal this summer.
Llorente had joined Roma on a loan deal in the January transfer window of 2023 and despite an injury late in the campaign, Roma decided to sign the Spaniard once again.
Gianluca di Marzio has confirmed that defender is set to return to Roma on an initial loan deal, with an agreement now reached with Leeds for the move. The documents are now being exchanged to make sure that the deal goes through soon, with Roma to pay €5 million after the loan deal to sign the player permanently if Llorente plays 50 percent of the club’s games.
Last season, the 29-year-old played nine Serie A games for Jose Mourinho’s side and played thrice in the Europa League, also featuring against his former club Real Sociedad. An injury late in the campaign cut short his campaign but he seems to have impressed Mourinho enough.
