Roma’s Jose Mourinho rejects Al-Ahli after key meeting

Roma manager Jose Mourinho has now rejected the chance to join Saudi Arabia-based club Al-Ahli.

Mourinho’s future has been in doubt in recent months and there has been talk of a potential exit for the Portuguese, with clubs like Paris Saint-Germain interested.

Sky Italia have reported that Mourinho has attracted attention from Al-Ahli and earlier on Wednesday, a meeting was Chelsea Harbor Hotel in London between Waleed Muath, president of Al-Ahli, and José Mourinho. It was expected to a vital meeting when it comes to Mourinho’s future.

During the meeting, Mourinho politely expressed the fact that he does not want to move to the Saudi Arabian club, stating that he isn’t interested in the move and he wants to stay at Roma.

No meetings involving Mourinho and Roma owners The Friedkins have taken place so far to sort out the manager’s future, despite Mourinho being desperrate to hold talks about his future since earlier this year.
