Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo arrives in Istanbul ahead of Galatasaray move

Roma outcast Nicolo Zaniolo has now landed in Istanbul, ahead of the completion of his permanent transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

The Giallorossi had approaches from multiple clubs in January and only one met their valuation – Bournemouth. But Zaniolo rejected the move and even though he reconsidered it on deadline day, the ship had sailed as the Cherries had already signed Hamed Traore from Sassuolo.

In a move that has concluded rather quickly, Zaniolo is set to join Gala on a permanent deal and he has now arrived in Istanbul to undergo a medical and then sign a four-year-deal with the Turkish giants.

Roma are expected to earn about €20 million to €22 million from the Italian’s sale, with the player set to have a release clause worth €35 million in his contract and it is expected to be valid even in the summer. The presence of some ex-Serie A players has been vital for Zaniolo’s decision.
