Following a 2-1 defeat in their last match, Inter will aim to put pressure at the top of the table by picking up a win when they face Salernitana away from home.Â
Inter’s perfect start to the new season came to an end after Sassuolo dealt them with a shocking defeat. Denzel Dumfries opened the scoring for the hosts just before the whistle for half-time but the Neroverdi began accelerating their performance in the second half. Goals from Nedim Bajrami and Domenico Berardi sealed the comeback win for the visitors and the Nerazzurri lost their undisputed league leaders position.
The attacking partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram has yielded seven goals in the first six games of the season. The duo hopes to leapfrog the Vlahovic-Chiesa partnership which has produced eight goals till now.
Meanwhile, Salernitana approach this match on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Empoli. The Granata are yet to register a win this campaign and have suffered a total of three defeats.Â
The Salerno-based side haven’t won against Inter since gaining promotion to the top flight but they did manage to hold them to a 1-1 draw last season when Antonio Candreva netted the equaliser in the 90th minute.Â
