Serie A transfers that can still take place in January

There is still a week left before the January transfer window draws its end, and deals are still left to be done by the Serie A clubs. Many deals are under negotiations while some are waiting for a potential deadline day sale, nonetheless, anything can happen in the last few days. Here is a list of transfers that can take place before this window ends:

ATALANTA

According to Sky Italia, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side looks winded down for this transfer window. They are happy with the team and will neither consider any offers for their players nor will they go into the pursuit of one. In the last few days, La Dea management have reportedly rejected bids from Everton and Sevilla for Duvan Zapata and Jeremie Boga respectively as they are deemed to be ‘non-transferable’.

FIORENTINA

There is set to be an exchange of goalkeepers between Napoli and the Viola. According to a report from Sky Italia, veteran goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu is set to arrive in Florence and become the 2nd in choice to Pietro Terracciano in Fiorentina. Meanwhile, Pierluigi Gollini is expected to move to Napoli. 

INTER

The Milan Skriniar saga is set to continue till the last minute of this transfer window. The Slovak defender’s agent has already conveyed to the Nerazzurri management that his client will not renew with the club and would move away either in this or in the next transfer window. PSG are expected to sign the defender but Inter have not received any kind of offer for Skriniar.

JUVENTUS

The Premier League looks to be the favoured destination for winger Weston Mckennie. According to a report from Sky Italia, the player’s agent has flown to Leeds to talk of a potential transfer for his client. McKennie will find himself more at home in Leeds under the guidance of an American manager, Jesse Marsch and two of his compatriots, Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. Primary contacts have been initiated and the deal is expected to be a quick one. 

LAZIO

Maurizio Sarri’s club will aim to offload loan returnee Gonzalo Escalante in the next few days. According to Sky Italia, the midfielder is reportedly set for a loan deal with an option to buy in Spanish side, Cadiz. 

MILAN

The transfer market has rejuvenated for the Rossoneri in the last few days. Milan have now entered the race for wantaway Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo – per a report. The Rossoneri have presented an offer to the Giallorossi for the player on a loan deal with the obligation to buy if they secure Champions League football for next season. Though Jose Mourinho’s side looks reluctant to accept the terms as they want a permanent move for Zaniolo without any conditions. It remains to be seen what happens with Zaniolo as we approach the end of the window. 

Milan are also closing in on the contract renewal of Olivier Giroud which is set to expire in June. The official announcement is expected to come after the end of the window. 

Midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko looks to be on his way out of the club. Turkish outfits Adana Demirspor has offered him a 3-year deal worth 3 million per season and the player is keen to accept the offer.

NAPOLI

Napoli are going to receive Pierluigi Gollini from the goalkeeper exchange with Fiorentina. The Italian goalkeeper is going to be the 2nd-choice goalie after Alex Meret. The official announcement is expected to be live by this week.

ROMA

The Giallorossi are lining up reinforcements for midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo in the event of his departure. According to a report from Sky Italia, Roma could be in for Hakim Ziyech after potential contacts took place in the last few days. It remains to be seen if any further advancements occur during the last days. 

Eldor Shomurodov is a fan of Bayer Leverkusen and is expected to depart this window. Official contacts haven’t taken place but there are few communications with other clubs.
