Sevilla overtake Lazio in race to sign Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow

Spanish outfits Sevilla seem to have overtaken Lazio within the tightly knitted race to sign Frankfurt midfielder Djibril Sow.

Nicolo Schira, via LazioSiamoNoi, reports that the 26 year-old Switzerland international has reportedly agreed to join the Europa League champions on a five-deal worth €2.5m and will pay the German side a transfer fee of €14m plus bonuses.

While Lazio were prepared to offer Frankfurt approximately €15m for the Swiss star, Sow has left the capital side on hold as he awaited to evaluate all of his options, ultimately deciding to snub Sarri’s side in order to join Sevilla heading into next year’s campaign.

After missing out on one of their primary targets within the midfield to fill the void following the departure of Serbian international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, the Biancocelesti find themselves within a difficult predicament as they are scarce on midfielders with the start of the new season only three weeks away.
