Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners is set to sign a new deal with La Dea despite interest from Tottenham.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TuttoAtalanta) report that the Dutchman has chosen to sign a new deal with Atalanta and has already renewed his deal at the club.
The renewal is said to be a rather strategic move by the Bergamo-based side. Apart from showing incredible versatility and suitability to Gian Piero Gasperini’s system, Koopmeiners is someone whose value will increase a lot with the new deal, which will likely run out in 2027 now.
It is mentioned that Tottenham were interested in the midfielder but Koopmeiners is seen as an irreplaceable player by La Dea and he was also keen on staying at the side. It highlights his commitment to the side and how important he is to Gasperini’s side, having impressed in the last couple of positions.
Apart from playing deeper in midfield, Koopmeiners has shown that he can also operate as an attacking midfielder who can score goals.
