Victor Osimhen-Kvicha Kvaratskhelia aim to break Ronaldo-Dybala record

Napoli are cruising to this season’s Scudetto and they are sharpening themselves day by day without showing any signs of weaknesses.

Manager Luciano Spalletti has perfectly organised his side since the starting day of the new season, making it formidable both in the Serie A and the UEFA Champions League. The league seems to be secured for this season in Napoli’s hands and they now aim to have an extraordinary shot at Europe’s most prestigious title in club football.

Needless to say, the pair of striker Victor Osimhen and Georgian breakout star Kvicha Kvaratskhelia have made an immense impact on the Partenopei’s stride this season and their joint efforts are turning out to be a game-changer, one which has been rare to find in recent footballing times.

The Nigerian striker and the 22-year-old Georgian have scored 21 and 12 goals respectively this season. With a total of 33 goals up until now combined from the two, the Napoli pair has already reached the levels of Ibrahimovic-Balotelli (Inter 2008/09) and Batistuta-Montella (Roma 2000/01). Both of the earlier pairs had reached the 33 goals mark during a whole season, and with eleven games remaining this term, the duo of Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia will aim to break the record of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala who jointly scored a staggering 42 goals in the 2019-20 season, playing for Juventus.

The form shown by the two Neapolitan forwards has been impeccable this season and they are in firm contention of breaking the record held by Ronaldo and Dybala. To reach that mark, they have to first break the stats of Milito-Eto’o who finished with 34 goals in Inter’s treble-winning year, however, this mark is expected to be breached by the duo in the next game.
