Atalanta optimistic about Gian Piero Gasperini’s stay

Serie A side Atalanta expect manager Gian Piero Gasperini to continue at the club for the future.

Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Atalanta president Antonio Percassi expressed optimism about Gian Piero Gasperini’s future with the Bergamo-based side.

He recently met with the manager following their Europa League triumph and reflected on the discussion held between them. Percassi said: “How is it going? There’s no problem, we have to see each other again but everything is going well”

Clubs like Napoli, Juventus and Milan are circling Gasperini after rumours broke out about him needing a move away from La Dea. Atalanta have skyrocketed under the 66-year-old head coach and are experiencing one of their golden periods after securing Champions League qualification and lifting major silverware for the second time in their history.

It remains to be seen whether Gian Piero Gasperini commits to his long-term future with the Nerazzurri or he gets tempted at a lucrative offer elsewhere and provides him with a new challenge.
