Daniele de Rossi on Roma renewal after Brighton hammering: “I’m doing a job I like”

Roma boss Daniele de Rossi has spoken about his future at the club after their 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Europa League.

Roma essentially have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and they impressed thoroughly against the Seagulls. Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante all got a goal each in a brilliant showing against Roberto de Zerbi’s side.

The tie was billed was De Zerbi’s homecoming but it proved to be a harrowing result, as the injury prone Seagulls were hammered.

De Rossi spoke about his future at the club and he said (via TMW): “I know that now you’re starting, I know this city. It’s the last thing on my mind, I’m doing a job that I like, in a place that I like, with satisfactions that I didn’t know I’d get out of it in such a short time. In a few days we’re against another special coach (Italian from Fiorentina), if we go there in a week thinking we’ve already passed they’ll beat us.”

While De Rossi is chosing to be diplomatic, rumours have suggested that Roma want to keep him beyond this season and he is likely to stay next season. A two-year deal can be offered to the Italian, who has a good relationship with the club’s owners.
