Daniele de Rossi on Roma renewal after Brighton hammering: โ€œIโ€™m doing a job I likeโ€

Roma boss Daniele de Rossi has spoken about his future at the club after their 4-0 win over Brighton and Hove Albion in the Europa League.

Roma essentially have one foot in the quarter-finals of the Europa League and they impressed thoroughly against the Seagulls. Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku, Gianluca Mancini and Bryan Cristante all got a goal each in a brilliant showing against Roberto de Zerbiโ€™s side.

The tie was billed was De Zerbiโ€™s homecoming but it proved to be a harrowing result, as the injury prone Seagulls were hammered.

De Rossi spoke about his future at the club and he said (via TMW): โ€œI know that now youโ€™re starting, I know this city. Itโ€™s the last thing on my mind, Iโ€™m doing a job that I like, in a place that I like, with satisfactions that I didnโ€™t know Iโ€™d get out of it in such a short time. In a few days weโ€™re against another special coach (Italian from Fiorentina), if we go there in a week thinking weโ€™ve already passed theyโ€™ll beat us.โ€

While De Rossi is chosing to be diplomatic, rumours have suggested that Roma want to keep him beyond this season and he is likely to stay next season. A two-year deal can be offered to the Italian, who has a good relationship with the clubโ€™s owners.
