Daniele de Rossi set to become new Roma manager

Former Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi is now set to become the club’s interim manager after the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese manager was sacked earlier today as they remained at 9th in the table after the loss to Milan. They also lost to Lazio in the Coppa Italia, as they were knocked out of the competition.

Sky Italia have reported about De Rossi’s move to Roma, with the midfielder linked with a move. He is set to become the club’s next manager and he will sign a contract with the Giallorossi later today. Only the final details of the agreement are now missing.

The Italian will sign a contract till the end of the season, but De Rossi’s deal will have an option to extend his stay if certain conditions are met this season.

De Rossi’s last managerial role came at SPAL, where he was sacked in months. But he worked with Roberto Mancini as part of his staff during their time together with the Italian national team.
