Jose Mourinho left behind Conference League win ring after Roma exit

When Jose Mourinho was sacked by Serie A giants Roma some days ago, the manager left his UEFA Conference League win ring behind.

Mourinho has already been replaced by Daniele de Rossi, who is now the interim boss, but the Portuguese’s presence is likely still being missed by Roma fans, who had a brilliant connection with him during his stint at the Giallorossi.

Il Messaggero (via TMW) state that after the club’s Conference League win in Tirana, the players had gifted Mourinho a Conference League ring. After his sacking, Mourinho returned the ring and he left it inside captain Lorenzo Pellegrini’s locker in the dressing room.

The newspaper states that Mourinho felt ‘betrayed’ by his players and squad and he also felt betrayed by the club, as they immediately replaced him with De Rossi. The Italian has won his first two games as manager, with the next one to be played later today, as Roma step up their chance to qualify for the Champions League next season.
